Experience
Microsoft
Shipping features for millions on Microsoft Teams.
Role description
Going to Microsoft had been a long-term goal of mine. I first interviewed in 2022—and failed pretty badly. After six attempts, 36 interviews, and a few 6-month breaks (plus a blog to learn DSA and system design), I finally got an offer in 2025.
I joined a newly formed team in Prague, working on audience management and the release process for client-facing features. My work focused on feature releases, feature flags, telemetry, monitoring, and improving how we ship safely. Put simply, I was the person shipping Microsoft Teams to your device and allowing dogfooding to limited audiences.
At Microsoft’s scale, collaboration became a huge part of the job. Compared to my previous roles, where coding dominated, here even small issues can impact millions of users. Leading meetings with 50+ people was a new experience—and one I won’t forget.
